The barman is the person who runs the establishment's bar. He or she prepares cocktails, comes up with new creations, builds customer loyalty and creates a warm atmosphere that suits the establishment and contributes to its reputation. The barman conveys the hotel's image through his exemplary attitude, his warm and friendly welcome, his professionalism and his availability.
Their job:
The Barman is in constant contact with customers and helps to create the right atmosphere in the workplace. They serve drinks ordered by customers, make the classic cocktails on the menu and also suggest compositions of their choice to the Head Bartender. They are also responsible for managing drinks stocks: ordering from suppliers, receiving and storing bottles. They clean and maintain the bar's machines and equipment.
Reporting to our Maître d'hôtel, he/she will be responsible for
- Supplying the bar with products and tidying up
- Monitor stock levels; identify supply requirements and draw up requisitions.

- Set up products and equipment in accordance with established work procedures
- Serve customers at the counter, in the dining room and on the terrace/lounge
- Clearing tables and counters, and maintaining and cleaning the indoor bar
- Informing customers about the manor's activities
- Applying the manor's commercial policy
- Checking customer satisfaction
- Detecting risky behaviour and informing your manager or colleagues.

Main qualifications and levels of training:
The basic diploma is the CAP (such as CAP Services en brasserie Café, CAP restaurant)
MC bar employee or Bac pro service and marketing, bac technologique hôtellerie.
